It is said that this place was named Bhavarnath after the name of Baba, who herded this cow. There is a philosophical place by the name of “Pauhari Baba Ashram” at a distance of about 0.5 km from Bongaria Bazar, about 16 km from “Mehnagar” tehsil, where a fair is organized on Tuesdays and Sundays of every week. ‘Pauhari Baba’ was an Indian ascetic and saint of the nineteenth century. He was born in about 1800 AD in a Brahmin family near Varanasi. As a child, he had come to the ashram of his saint, Brahmachari uncle near Ghazipur to study. After finishing his studies he traveled to Indian pilgrimage sites. He was initiated into the mysteries of yoga in the Girnar mountain of Kathiawar.
Thousands of devotees come here and offer khadaon, bell, and chunari to Pauhari Baba. There is also a large reservoir and bathing pool where people take a dip in faith at various festivals. Large bells and small bells have been tied in the temple of Pauhari Baba by the devotees, whose sound makes this place even more delightful.
