2. The entrance to Wonder Park is made of part of an old grass cutter and a dilapidated bench. The entrance arch is made from typewriter parts and spring. The design of the entrance to Waste to Wonder Park was conceived by Ram Kumar, an artist from Tamil Nadu.
3. Seven Wonders Park is powered by 3 windmills (each generating 1 kW of power), 18 sun-tracking solar panels (with a total of 10 kW energy-generating capacity). Apart from this, there are 3 solar trees, each of which produces 6 kW of energy. The energy generated from these sources is used to light up the entire park.
4. Seven Wonders Park generates a total of 28 kW of energy while consuming only 15 to 25 kW of energy. Its surplus energy is exported to the city’s power grid, generating additional revenue for the SDMC.
5. An Artificial Waterfall is also in Waste to Wonder Park.
6. Most of the scrap materials used in Seven Wonders Park are sourced from landfills in New Delhi.
7. The special thing about this park is that the idea of designing this park came to South Delhi Municipal Commissioner Dr. Punnett Goyal after watching the Bollywood movie “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” which was shot in Kota’s “Seven Wonders Park“.
8. Waste to Wonder Park is the result of a collective effort of 5 main artists, 7 supporting artists, 50 laborers, and 70 welders from different parts of India.
9. A total of 150 tonnes of waste was used in the construction of these 7 wonders, which cost a total of Rs 7.5 crore.
10. All the structures are made from scrap so that they do not rust quickly, for this all surfaces are painted with anti-rust enamel.
11. Waste to Wonder Park has lots of green space around each monument. Most of the area is open to those who wish to enjoy their picnics. However, there is no cafe inside the park. If one plans to stay for a longer period, one has to buy food and water from outside. People are not allowed to bring their own food in the park, but they can buy food and water from nearby vendors.
12. The park is expected to be rented out for pre-wedding photo shoots, movie shoots, and other similar activities.
13. Materials from 24 municipal stores have also been used to make sculptures in this Seven Wonders Park in Delhi.
14. The parking lot of Waste to Wonder Park has the capacity to accommodate 66 four-wheelers and 31 two-wheelers. If you don’t want to take your vehicle along, you can stop on the “Hop On Hop Off Bus” at this park, which takes you to many other important sites in New Delhi.
